Born 1949 in Baden. Raised in Mellingen (CH). 1967-71    Pedagogic education.
1972-75    Studies of Art pedagogy at the School of Art and Design Lucerne.
1975-77    Ethnology and Art History studies at Zurich University.
Commenced working as an artist and author.
1978/80    Guest scholarship at Cité internationale des Arts in Paris. An encounter with Nam June Paik in Paris instigated him to work with electronic media.

1981    Residence in Florence.
1982    Artist in Residence in Geneva.
1983    Moved to Basel.
1987    Artist in Residence in Paris.
1993    Residence in Moscow.
 
Since 1986:  Author/Director and member of the media cooperative point de vue.
Since 1991:  Teaching at various art schools in Switzerland and abroad.
Since 2000:  Tutor for video and art projects at the HGK, School of Art and Design, Basel.

Participated in international video- and film festivals, among others: Solothurner Filmtage, VIPER Luzern, VIPER Basel, Mediawave Budapest, OSTranie Bauhaus Dessau, Videofestival Kassel, AVE Arnhem, oneminute biennale Utrecht, The Kitchen New York, Swiss Institute New York, Festival intern. du jeune Cinéma, Montreal, April Meetings Belgrade.

His video works were broadcast on Swiss Television SF, 3sat, KANAL 4 on RTL, Offener Kanal Berlin, Salto Television Amsterdam, litauisches Fernsehen LITVA TV, Russian Television 2x2, NTV Moscow, Macedonian Television MTV.

Media art works were purchased for the following collections: Kunsthaus Zürich, Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau, Medienkunstsammlung Basel-Landschaft, Musée des Beaux Arts Lausanne, Kunstmuseum Bern and Kunstmuseum Basel.
