Approaching the polystyrene cube, organic structures reveal on its
surface. Through the pulsating light it is not clearly recognizable
whether they are macro structures or landscapes. But what is sure is:
Traces of culture are not recognizable.
The rotating and flickering slides are shots of a housing area, which
was devastated by a flood catastrophe. Soaked and swelled household
contents gush out of the one story houses‘ smashed windows, like
intestines out of burst bellies; roofs slit off their houses, as if a
giant had tripped over it; and in the front gardens are piles of things
human beings require for life: clothes, crockery, chairs, food,
televisions, even cars, window frames, fridges...
This chaos merely appears flickering, as variations of light and dark.
The concrete shapes of the objects are erased and rendered almost
invisible.
