The starting point of this video are black and white
photographs which I made in Raton, New Mexico in 1995: cows, men,
stones, bombs, dogs, furniture ...
The soundtrack is created with elements of noise which I have recorded
on the spot: lowing cows, squeaking oil pumps, rattling windmills ...
Hotel El Portal is a subjective documentation of a strange place, and
at the same time a reflection about how things appear in an image.
