YEREVAN FOR THE TIME BEING

Susanna, Robert, Mariam and Mr. Hekekyan with the choir "Little Singers of Armenia" are immediate neighbours of one of Yerevan's biggest construction sites. They have all lived and/or worked at this site in the centre of the Armenian capital for years. Susanna lives now in a construction trailer, parked in the backyard of the house where she used to live. Robert and Mariam live in their flat with a wall directly adjacent to the construction pit. And the club rooms of "Little Singers of Armenia" are located in a part of the house whose outer wall recently began to collapse. All these neighbours have one thing in common: their living situation and their place of work are literally insecure. Aysor or vaghe, today or tomorrow, maybe they will have to leave, too.

In "Yerevan for the Time Being", observations on the large construction site are confronted with the housing situation and everyday life of three immediate neighbours. The film also portrays the people involved with the construction site - a group of construction workers, the architect of the project and the site manager. In addition, the melancholic microcosm of a precarious living space opens up, which has to be defended in times of gentrification, or even just kept for the sake of watching:
Everything is only temporary, everything has its time - but the lifetimes of cities, neighbourhoods, houses and their inhabitants vary.
