[x]The White Savage
Documentary
Year of production: 2007
Driven by his overwhelming yearning for a free life, Swiss world tramp
Paul Wirz (*1892) travelled the South Seas seven times. The odd
scientist found his paradise at places "where oceans roar and primeval
forests rustle, where savages and cannibals live. In 1955 Paul Wirz
passed away on a walking tour in New Guinea.
Fifty years later, his son Dadi (*1931) and his grandson Pawi (*1959)
leave together for Papua New Guinea. They want to find out why Paul
Wirz was so attracted by the Papuan people. But the journey takes an
unexpected turn: Pawi falls in love with a Papuan girl. A new chapter
of the wild family saga begins.
