Offside Istanbul
Every day, African football players are stranded in the glamorous metropolis of Istanbul. They are driven by the dream of a life as a star. Once they arrive at the Bosphorus, they are confronted with false promises.
The dream turns into hard reality. And their football career becomes a long way off.
Jonas Schaffter accompanied some of these football talents for six months. His film tells not only of desolation, but also of strong personalities full of joy of life and undaunted hope.
