Born 1979 in Berlin, first worked as a cameraman & director in many short films, music videos and commercials. 2000 - 2006 Co-founder of the artist pool Mindflash and the cross-media company Sugarman in Berlin. In the same years he co-founded the video department of the Hebbel Theater Berlin. From 2009 onwards, his main focus has been the realisation of his own short films. In 2011, he worked on several experimental films and video installations. After his studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, Piet Esch worked with point de vue for three years on his first feature film project. As a research associate, he accompanied the research project hands_on at the Zurich University of the Arts from 2019 to 2022. He is currently starting his residency scholarship at the Academy for Theatre and Digitality in Dortmund.
At point de vue, Piet is responsible for all technical as well as design processes.
