Uri Urech, born 1949. My activities are experimental/animation film, staged photography, performance.
From 1971 to 74 I studied German philology, philosophy and art history in Basel and Zurich. Afterwards, I trained as a photographer. I subsequently worked as a photographer for newspapers and publishing houses. During this time I undertook various journeys: Italy, GDR, Algeria, Burkina Faso, USA, Mexico and others.
From 1986 to 89 I studied at the Art and Media class of the HGK. I was a co-initiator of VIA VideoFotoKunst. I have been a member of point de vue since 1992.
My work at point de vue included production, direction, camera. In these functions I have realised a wide range of projects, mainly in the cultural environment.
Since 2014 I have been concentrating on my art work. From 2002 also in collaboration with Regula Hurter. Collaborative works are marked with *.
